EXTERNAL AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS
We are deeply honored and grateful to receive a recognition award this year (2025) from the Municipality of Gasan, headed by ๐๐ผ๐ป. ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ง๐ผ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ป๐ผ and ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ฑ๐ผ, together with the ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ด๐๐ป๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ป ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ and concerned persons. This award acknowledges the groupโs humble efforts to contribute to the choral music ministry in Gasan, especially in the community of St. Joseph, Spouse of Mary Parish. Coro Josefino is humbled and grateful for the local awards and recognitions received in recent years. In 2023, the choir won the Choral Music Composition category with their heartfelt rendition of "Katiwala", a piece written by Rev. Frs. Martin Puertollano and Saturnino Rioveros, with original music by members Marichelle Therese Sena and Adam Santiago Morales, and arrangement by choirmaster Jeff Go, supported by the participation of the section leaders. That same year, Coro Josefino also won in a separate choral competition hosted by the Boac Municipality, a meaningful achievement made possible despite feeling unprepared at the time. In 2024, the choir was recognized by the Biglang Awa Shrine for their active participation in diocesan services โan affirmation of their ongoing dedication to serve God and the local community through sacred music.

"Panalangin ng Abaโ is a humble song born from the collaboration of Coro Josefino and Coro La Inmaculada, composed by J.E. Go Silangil and inspired by Matthew 5:3. It is a heartfelt prayer of the lowly โexpressing humility, poverty, and total dependence on God. With no riches to offer but their voices, the singers continue to serve amid trials, offering everything to God. This song reminds us that in Godโs mercy, the humble are lifted, the broken find peace, and apart from Him, we are nothing.
